Hello Sufferlandrians! If you landed on this article you are probably scratching your head and wondering why you are having issues connecting your power meter. The Minions at Sufferlandrian Services have also been confused at times when hooking up our Power Meters. The setup is so simple we actually over complicated it ourselves. We do not need to connect our Power Meter to the Cadence section. The Sufferfest App knows to pull cadence from Power Meters. In the Windows App, you can connect the Power Meter as a Cadence device if you are using a smart trainer. However, that is only for Windows at this moment.
When setting up your Power Meter it will be displayed on the ANT+ or Bluetooth channel. First, you must validate that your ANT+ dongle is connected and working or your Bluetooth connection is on. We validate those connections are working first, in the workout screen.
Now that we validated that our ANT+ or BLE Channel is "ON", we can move to the Power Meter menu. Select the Power Meter menu and look for your device on ANT+ or BLE Channels. If it is not showing up, then you may need to turn your crank or wheel to wake up your Power Meter.
Once you find your device, it is just a matter of selecting the device you wish to use. Below is a list of the Power Meters that we currently support. Most Power Meters only transmit using an ANT+ Channel. For more information on ANT+ connections click here for the iPhone/iPad and MAC Connectors.
- *Garmin Vector
- PowerTap C1
- *PowerTap P1 (Currently not supported on BLE yet)
- *Brim Brothers
- *Verve Info Crank
- Any ANT+ or BLTE Power Meter
*ANT+ connection only.
**(Special Notes) We don't support SRM yet. Some of the new ones may broadcast power only messages that we support but the older ones only broadcast CTF messages that we don't decode yet. We will look at integration after January 2017.
